Contestants Lindsay, Damian, Alex and Samuel |
Yes that’s right in bold move on last night’s Glee Project, co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan decided not to send home any contestant. Instead they kept all four for this Sunday’s finale on the Oxygen Network at 9pm. Vying for a 7 episode guest spot on Season 3 of Glee are: Lindsay, Damian, Alex, and Samuel. My money is on Samuel although it could come down to him and Damian and here’s why. Lindsay is too much like Lea Michele’s character Rachel so there would be nothing new to write about. Alex is a great singer but the show has already received a lot of criticism for being “too gay” not to mention Chris Colfer and Darren Criss’s characters have enough sub plots. Now Damian would bring something fresh and exciting seeing that he is cute first of all, has an Irish accent and can definitely pull off the new freshman character; the only downside is that he is just an ok singer but when has that ever stopped Glee writers sans Chris Overstreet. Samuel seems the likely choice because Ryan Murphy keeps hitting that he has always wanted to write a story on a Christian, Republican type male or female. With Samuel’s strong values and his bible tattoo scriptures on his body he may have just given Murphy exactly what he is looking for; his downside according to Murphy and I agree, is that the audience wants to root for an underdog and I’m afraid Samuel may already be an Alpha. What it boils down to is character, character, character that’s who the audience keeps tuning in for. No matter who Murphy has chosen (obviously the winner has already been working on Season 3 but will keep mum about who he or she is) these four definitely deserve to be in the finale. Who do you think will win the Glee Project?
